I am down but NOT out

He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel,
and you will bring me glory.”

I replied, “But my work seems so useless!
I have spent my strength for nothing and to no purpose.
Yet I leave it all in the Lord’s hand;
I will trust God for my reward.”

He says, “You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me.
I will make you a light to the Gentiles,
and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”

Isaiah 49: 3-4, 6 NLT
This is such a timely comfort for me. I’m having too much on my plate right now, it’s as if I am engulfed by the gloomy weather in the midst of the unrelenting typhoon in the Philippines. I am discouraged, disappointed and frustrated. But this Word greeted my subconscious while I’m having that half-sleep episode in the hospital (where my Grandma is currently confined due to mild stroke).

I am down but not out, because I choose to. I hold on to believing that: He has a great plan for me more than what I can conceive (Jer. 29:11). I choose to have a stubborn faith and embrace where I am now, amidst the pain.
